| 1. If there is any bleeding around the mouth, vomiting or trouble breathing, do not muzzle. 2. If animal is apprehensive, injured or trying to bite, muzzle. If gauze is not available, use a belt, shoe lace, leash or rope. Twist gauze (to give it strength) and tie a slipknot in the middle of the gauze to make a loop. Approach from behind and slip loop over snout about halfway down. Pull ends to tighten on top of snout, pull until lips are slightly indented by the gauze. Wrap ends under snout and tie a single knot. Pull ends behind head, under ears and tie a bow knot. 3. Remove muzzle if animal shows any signs of wanting to vomit or has difficulty breathing. |
