If animal ate something solid:
under normal circumstances, they may be in shock and may not  1. Be
cautious!  Even thought your pet would never intentionally bite recognize
you.
2.  Call veterinarian immediately.  Tell them what the animal ate and
when, and how long it will take you to get there.
3.  If you can see object, you may try to sweep it out of the way using a
side to side motion, use a spoon.  Be cautious, you may force the object
deeper into the airway.  Do not pull out partially swallowed sting or
partially embedded objects (such as fish hooks).  Do not forcibly remove
the object.  Be careful the animal doesn't bite you.
4.  The animal may need x-rays to find out where item is located and
whether it is passing through the system.  The animal may need surgery
to remove the object.
5.  Transport animal to the veterinarian even if you have removed the
object.  You may have missed some pieces, the throat may swell after
trauma, and there may be lacerations to the throat and mouth.  There
also my be some internal damage.
